I'll apologise in advance for another speaker post- I've read about every other one on here and still can't decide on a speaker for my Ghia 1x12 V30 combo. I play classic rock (Strat and Les Paul) and like the sound of the amp, but in some smaller venues its too loud. Also use an AM Maxon TS9, Fat Boost, SHO, and waiting on a ZenDrive too.
The G12H sounds promising, but its like 100dB too. The Greenback is 97 dB sensitivity, but I read it has mushy lows. Then there's post about the Tone Tubbys, Webers, etc... But many are also 100dB.
An AirBrake could be the solution, but is more $ than a speaker, and you dont get to try a new speaker.
So... any recomendation for an inefficient speaker for a Ghia playing classic rock covers?

How about a piece of plexiglass stood up in front of the amp?

LOL Great timing. Just made one of these acrylic barriers last night! Will try that at next gig on 30th. Still may want to change speaker though...

The G12H30 probably would be ideal vs the V30, except it shares the same 100dB sensitivity so it wont help me tone down the volume at all. Unless anyone has any more ideas for a Ghia speaker a bit quieter than the V30, I think the G12M 25 Greenback is the one.
