Just tried out the Maz 38 today, used the Z 2 by 10 speakers, amazing spongy responsiveness. kept it pretty clean and used the klon and rc boost on clean boost modes for a really organic in your face grind:
master: 5:00 volume: 11:00 mid: 9:30 treble: 2:30 cut: 2:30 bass: 12:00 reverb: off
I found that it got a little farty sounding with the boosts, so would using 2 2 by 10 Z cabs take that away? Or any other speaker suggestions....
I tried the following: celestion gold 1 by 12: too much high end 1 by 12 combo w/ celestion: distorted too much/muddy Z best: same as the 1 by 12
anybody got their .02 to throw my way!?!?!?!?

Experiment with turning down the bass. The low end is so responsive, I keep my bass control on at 9:00 or less.

1. Too much bass. You're overloading the speakers and wasting 2/3 of your power. Turn it down for more cleans.
2. You know you the knobs are adjustable? "Too much high end" is usually fixed by turning the cut or treble knobs. Having "too much high end" in your house while you stand directly in front of an amp listening carefully translates into nice "cut" and "presence" in a live band or mixed recording. Just saying.
Of course instead of working the controls to match the situation, you can change speakers/caps and/or guitars. Seems right to me.

I like the cut around 9 or 10 oclock (way more than you were using). It seems a bit extreme, but it really tames down the highs.
I adjust the bass/mid/treble for the balance that I like, then adjust the cut to tame the ear piercing trebles as you turn it up.
You could use a 4X10 with it if you really wanted to tighten up the bass, or use different 12 in speakers. Something like an Eminence Tonker would be able to take all the bottom end, and stays quite a bit cleaner.
