really excited....just purchased last night and joined the forum this morning. should have it tomorrow. i've spent 2 years trying to get my bogner shiva to "do it" for me....hope this will be the answer.
i have an orange 212 loaded w/ v30's that im planning on using, anyone have experience w/ this config? i was thinking about swapping one of the v30s for a lead 80...any thoughts?
if anyone has any "notes" or advise on this amp it would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum! The SRZ-65 is an awesome amp. I've not played mine through a pair of V30s, but I do play mine through the Z-Best which has one V30 and one G12H and it sounds excellent through that setup. I've also tried a 2x12 with Alnico Golds and didn't care for that as much. The SRZ can seem overly bright if you don't take time to twist the knobs around to the right places, and the Golds didn't help that much. But the Z-Best really does! I imagine your cab will sound pretty good - you'll have to let us know once you get the head.
So is this one of the Limited Edition units, or a recent manufacture, or what? Just curious.

just found out from the seller that its #22....i saw that one has "been around the block" on this forum.
hoping to get a nice british growl out it.....i think the orange cabs are a bit darker in comparison to others so i think i may be on the right track. i'll be sure to post once i try er out.

I used to own #22. It's a great amp. But I have a modded Plexi that covers the "Marshall" territory. Basically, this is the Marshall JCM 800 (50-watt) with much better components onto a hand-wired turret board. To me (through a Greenback-loaded 412) it has the George Lynch/ Ratt type of Marshall tone, not early Clapton, Hendrix, or Van Halen. For that 1980's JCM tone, this is as good as it gets. I was actually thinking about bidding for that amp back. But I have 10 amps. I just wouldn't play it that much. That's why I sold her. I hope you like her as much as I did!

BTW, Jeff. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. Do you have a replacement in mind?

this thing is awesome....got to crank it at practice and i couldnt be happier. i also tried my buddy's zendrive though it....sick tones.
the orange 212 worked out really well, i swapped one of the v30's for a classic lead 80 out of my bogner shiva combo (thats for sale btw) and it sounded great, after a bit of research on pairings i just ordered a g12h to replace the lead 80...hoping it sounds even better.
now i get (and fully understand) all the "z" hype that ive heard over the past few years
