My Senior 1-12 (stock G12H) with verb. I was playing at a Live outdoor resturant gig yesterday. I moved the cut from 9-10 up to around 12-1. Volume around 1-2, treb around 11, mids off, bass around 9, verb around 10, master around 10.5. Amazing how the amp opened up. I was in the best sounding Fender amp ever with touch sensitivity. My strat an d tele with the Fralin Blues pups were just wonderful. Just friggin killer! Rick

With my strat, I don't even bother with the cut knob....i think it sounds much better without it, but thats my opinion, however with my PRS and gibson, ill leave the cut at 9, sometimes 8....i don't find it necessary in my style of playing.....DRZ ROCKS

With my LP Custom, I need to bump the cut and the treble (when on the neck/ or neck+bridge combo). But on the bridge it screams. I found this to be true with the Rt. 66 as well. Little dark with the old LP.

I use the cut to counter the loss of transparency from lowering the master control--Master up, cut down; Master down, cut up.
