I've recently blown three 1/2 amp fuses in the past two months on my Maz Sr. . During the first year of using the amp, I didn't blow any. My guess is that it is related to the rectifier tube I recently replaced, (I installed a NOS JAN Phillips). Other than tubes, I've changed nothing.
Am I on the right track?

Yep, you're on the right track. I had the same rectifier tube in my MAZ 38 head and later in my Stingray head. It blew the 1/2 amp fuse, and the JAN Phillips tube was to blame. Later, I reinstalled the same tube just for grins and it worked fine. But I could no longer trust it (Hate breakdowns at the gig), so it's gone and a NOS Mullard is in it's place. So far. So good. But I still carry the spare Sovtek just in case.
Good luck
Harold

Just as an update, I believe I have narrowed my problem down to a bad power tube, (with some help from the people at the FDP and the wisdom of Myles). So, my suspect power tubes are being sent back to Groove Tubes who will replace the same at no charge. Nice people with whom to do business!
**I had to make sure not to end that last sentence with a preposition.

only fuse Ive ever blown was from a bad recto ... or putting the recto in backwards (180 degrees). Pins didn't like it that much.

I also put that rectifier in, but I was blowing the 1/2 amp fuse. And it was doing so intermittently. Since replacing the power tubes, I have stopped blowing the 1/2 amp fuse.....Strato, did yours blow every time you turned on the amp or only occasionally??

Well recently, It would blow the fuse if the amp was on more than ten seconds. I guess i can blame the slo-blo fuse for the delay. The strange thing is that i used the new rectifier for a couple weeks before i started blowin fuses. Its weird, but I sure do hope that the rectifier was the issue, and not something else.
