Hi Everyone. I recieved my Maz 38 head today - let me first say this - I love this thing more than any amp I have ever played or heard - period!!!! I have had some nice amps. I have only had it for about 6 hours so I will further review it after awhile. Anyway - I notice there is a considerable hiss and hum in the reverb. I know there is a thread already created addressing this but I can't, for the life of me, find it. I figured I would start another in hopes of getting the family's take on this small problem I'm having and maybe give me some suggestions. Sorry to clutter the site with another identicle thread but, as I said, I can't find the orig. thread
Thanks Everyone!!! Bilbal

Hey Bilbal take back panel off and check to make sure the reverb plugs are connected, second check the 12at7 tube it's in the middle of the preamp tubes check make sure it is seated properly or if it is working at all. when i received my maz 38 one of the preamp tubes was stone cold amp sounded weak so i replaced it,and all is good.

Hi there, I just wanted to get in touch, because I just picked up a Studio Lead 38w head w/verb and FX loop (1995) and I am having the same reverb noise problem, and my amp also had a 12AT7 labeled only with the word CHINA on it. I am curious to see what you come up with on this. I am using a clean reverb tone most of the time, so I am hoping that this can be fixed. Thanks for sharing your info, and good luck! TM

I got a lot of noise from my Sr when I put my Z-28 on top of it, the noise was getting in through the reverb tank as it sits/is mounted on top of the amp. Mentioned this just in case there is something else running in very close proximity to your amp. Check if the noise goes away when the reverb is turned off, if it does I'd put my $$ on the 12AT7 as the culprit.

The small reverb tubs are notorious for going bad after being bumped around, don't ask how I know! Probably a tube though.
