I have a Maz38 NR that I have a question about. It has something strange going on in the bass. The bass comes on full at 8:30 and turning it up higher doesn't do anything. The bass control on full and 9:00 sound the same.Is this normal?

Mines pretty similar...I go from no bass to tons of bass by about 9 and it doesnt do a whole lot from there on in..It does seem different with my various cabs. The Zbest is so bassy that I barely need it, on my sealed 1x12 its more notable and I can actually crank it a bit...

Thanks mds.It sounds like my amp is working normal.I just put a 5751 in V1 and V3 and it help a lot.It sounds like the biggest Fender I've ever heard.

Ditto, though I usually max around 10:00 (2x12 w/Weber Alnico speakers). The attack (initial low thump) maxes around 10:00, but I do hear the rest of the tone being subtly affected as the bass is rolled up past 10:00 - like a continued thickening of the overall tone/amp that starts low and just rolls thru the spectrum as I crank it up.

I was going to sell my Maz38 because it was a little too loud and bassy for me.That all changed when I put a 5751 in V1 and V2.It still has a lot of bass but sounds perfect to me with the bass all of the way off.The FOH guy came up to me after the 1st set and said that my tone was warm and round sounding. He said it's one of the best tones he's mixed.I also tried a Audix I5 and a 421 on the cab.Believe it or not the FOH guy liked the I5 the best. Not bad for a $90 mic.

The 5751 in v1 and v3 will tame the bass and make it more controlable. I usually keep mine at 10am.
