I feel I am not getting the most out of my MAZ-38. I tried swapping and replacing tubes, and now am looking at the coupling capacitor.I checked the schematic and the amplifier ,and it appears to be .0022 uf. Similar amps use .001. would this give me more tone? How would it effect the gain? Laddie

Have you considered sending into the service dept at Dr Z? May well pay off.

i just had my '98 Maz38 invasion in the shop and made some interesting discoveries... one of which was putting a Null plug (not sure what to call it) into the footswitch jack. Seemed to give the amp some real balls for lack of a better phrase. the plug is just the snipped off end of a bad guitar cord we had laying around with the ends twisted together. also replaced the first preamp tube with a NOS black plate 5751. and a fresh set of GT el84's didn't hurt, either.
