Hey Folks,
Anyone installed an Area51 Tremolo unit (http://www.area51tubeaudiodesigns.com/) in to their MAZ 38 Sr? I wanted to check on compatibility and how much modification it would take to use it with an EL84 socket (it is setup for fixed bias, octal-based systems). Their site says it works on Dr Z amps, but doesn't spec which models. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I currently have a Boss TR2 Tremolo pedal, but the sound is sorely lacking compared to my old Fender Vibro King. Also, please feel free to recommend any other Tremolo pedals that might give me the BF Fender-style Tremolo sound. I love my Dr Z, but I also want to get the sweet sound of a decent Tremolo. Thanks!

I like the Demeter Tremolo. Although I did mod it to true bypass and added a resistor on the output to reduce the volume boost when the effect is on. Both mods were easy and cheap.

The Area51 Tremelo is a bias vary device. I can't imagine it will work on a cathode (self) bias design such as the MAZ.
Perhaps some other Zs are fixed-bias and that's what they're referring to.

Thanks for both your responses. I guess I'll check out the Demeter, as well as keep looking for a pedal unit!

Try a Fulltone Supa Trem, it sounds awesome through my 38
