I just traded a King Royale for a Maz 38 SR NR.Although I've only played through it for a couple of hours I can tell it's got something special going on.I can't believe how huge this amp sounds.I'm playing it through a Vox AC30cc cab with a Blue/G12H at 16ohms.There is so much bass that I can't get it much above 9:00 and that's with a Tele. It's eating up every pedal I throw at it.It's one loud beast so I won't have any problems cutting through the mix.I've own a Maz 18, Z-28 and original Maz38 and while I loved them all this is the best amp for me.
Way to go Doc

Doc, You've always treated me great over the years.I remember the time I bought a used original Maz38 and something didn't sound right.I sent it to you and you told me someone tried to turn it into a Boogie ::)LOL.You felt sorry for me and sold me a Maz38 Chassis for next to nothing.I'll always be greatful for that.

....the Maz Sr ended my Z-quest after owning 6 different Z's in a years and a halfs time...it is a loud beast but it also plays nice...it keeps a full round tone at pretty low volume...one of my latest infatuations is using the Maz in combination with my 65 Vibro Champ...the Maz gets turned up just enough to provide the fat bottom end the Champ is missing...kinda like a subwoofer with extra stuff going on.....its a great setup for playing with "quieter" ensembles and i'm thinking it will record really well but i haven't done so yet....you'd have to hear it to believe it but while using the A/B switcher i use (Radial Bigshot) i was fooling around to see how close i could get the Maz to the sound of the Champ...it was amazingly close with the speakers probably accounting for most of the difference..(G12H30 vs Weber signature 8")....if that doesn't illustrate some serious versatility i don't know what would!!!...
