Can I remove two power tubes and safely run the amp? What two would be best to remove (inner pair or outer pair)? Also, has anyone used 2 warm tubes (i.e. Mullard reissues) combined with two crunchier tubes (i.e. Svetlana)? Much thanks for the input.

We've been told to not pull tubes on these amps.

Definately, .... i'm not a tech guy, but i think i remeber something in conversation with the Doc, that they are not wired in a fashion to do that like ya might on your typical 4 - 6l6, 34 type amp. Sadness and mayhem for sure, may be the result!

38 needs all 4 el84s... do not remove two! I run 3 svets... but I go back and forth on the ecc83s. Cant make up my mind
