I have a 2004 model, which did not include a fan. Did anyone put in a fan themselves? I do not know if I could do it or where to get a fan to put in. I would like to put one in. I would not be adverse to having a local shop putting one in. I have been using the amp for 3-4 hour band practices and it is getting HOT. I would like to save some tube life and amp life. Thanks, James

My amp is brand new and did not come with a fan. It is a Non Reverb model so that might mean why it does not come with a fan.

Just go to radio shack. Get a 120 volt computer fan. Cut the end off of a cheap extension cord and splice it to the wires on the fan. I used to get some stiff wire and make a loop that would hang from the back panel. just hang it there and let it blow. It doesn't take much at all to keep it cool. You could also use a Walmart clip fan. I use to always do this with my old Fender blackface and tweeds. Kept them cool as cucumbers. This is really important if you lean your combo back. I am not a fan of prolonged heat soak. Look inside any old amp. You can see how ugly and crispy they can be. I think it should increase the time between component failures also.

I have a Studio Lead, which has a cooling grate cut in the top. I have a 7 inch fan from home that I just lay face down on the grate and then dime. It doesn't add any sort of hum and pumps air across the works like crazy. Not an elegant solution, but it's cheap and works very well.

you could simply put a small fan behind and to the side of the Maz and that would do the job, or I installed the Shack 4" fan....used an old extension cord, spliced in...and bent two pieces of "hinge" material using visegrips and channel locks, screwed them into the side of the cab and it positions and holds perfectly...I also have fans in all of my old fenders...and by not tieing into the amp in any way you eliminate the possibility of interference from the fan....I would not run an amp without a fan, it makes a great deal of difference as heat is the enemy and anyway that you can dissapate it is a plus...once you have one you will never be without one....
