I work about 4 blocks from there. It is a nice sounding amp and appears to be in great shape. Too heavy and too many watts for my needs. I'm waiting for a 1x12 Jr NR.

Yes it ain't light, but there's road cases with wheels, hand trucks, fans, strong young relatives who owe you at least one favor, etc. I've got the same amp with a Weber Blue Dog and an Eminence Red Fang speaker, and it's my favorite anp on this planet. Incredible tone!

Too many stairs between practice space and the car for a 2x12. More often than not, when I see a used Maz 38 for sale, it's a 2x12. So, if a player is in the market for one, he doesn't have to buy new. Great sounding amp. I had my eye on one with a curly maple front panel, but it was all over for me when I lifted it. I'd get a head and 2x12 cab before I'd get that "Hard To Handle" combo.

Me too. Precisely why I got a head and a 2x12 cab. I'd rather make two lighter trips than one heavy trip.

Per'zackly, combo's are fer the young and strong. Us old'sters choose heads and cabs everytime. It's the way.
