Well where does one begin. It has been a while now and I am still learning the amp. My ears have been getting much better thanks to the maz. For years of living with a Bassman and other amps it is a relief to have a decent eq. The string to string frequency response is more musical than any other amp I have owned. Oh and have I owned some. Not that any of them are bad in their own right but this amp is making me a better player. I have yet to find the answer to raging power tube distortion but I will get there and most of what I need from the Maz is the beginning breakup with chime that it does so well. I am running one Red Fang while waiting for my 1230/55 ceramic from weber. The red fang is just getting better and better, yes I am being gentle with it. Full on od is not its thing though, a bit flappy. The master is the best I have used, oh I do wish the eq didn't change with level changes but that is a bit much. Having to recalibrate for the sound I am after is making me listen more. I am a Les Paul guy now my tele is in its case, so many new sounds so little time. The music it does well. Anything British, my set of the police with a little delay and chorus rings for days. The Jam, thats entertainment perfect match Les Paul and straight amp. Who would have though, Sultans of Swing does something to the Lester I can not explain it is the rhythm part. Does anyone know if the instrumentation of the original included a Lester through a Vox? Well it just keeps getting better.
Will post some pics of my cab next.
