Well, after some serious debating I have decided to let go of my RXES and order a Maz38 SR NR 212 combo to match my stingray. Thanks Jason Gleaton for helping me in the decision. Thanks PDW, for a post you did regarding Reverb to Non reverb maz models. Karma coming to both of you. I know that a head/cab version would have been great as well but I could use the extra credit to pay off my Stingray. I will get another RXES in the future because it kicks some serious ss "Shane", but the Maz38 fits better with what I need at the moment. JChance, your clips have probably sold more MAZ38 SRs' that you realize, some props to you as well. Thanks y'all! I love this forum. Peace. ;D Arun

Congratulations. I'm sure it was a tough decision, but generally speaking, your ear doesn't lie! I've gigged with mine over a year now, and I've never been complimented more on my sound! It should sound great with your Stingray! I know your lovin that! Have a great weekend! Harold

Peace. ;D Arun Arun, your welcome and you won't be sad for long... you'll love that Maz!! and I like the combo too... I just have head's and cabs for versatility... ( it sounds SO good through ALL of my cabs it's hard to pick which one to use with it, one reason I like the head cab) I actually wouldn't mind having a Maz SR 2x12 NR combo myself.... and I would get the NR over the reverb IF given the choice, I just happen to have the reverb head and I love it... also might try a NOS rectifier in the Maz after you get it... I've got a Mullard in mine and it's sweet... what speakers are you gonna get with the one you've ordered?? I agree about Jayson Chance... He's the one that really turned me onto the Webers... I already kinda knew that's the speaker I wanted and liked em already BUT I was thinkin WHICH ONE??? HE pointed me in the right direction with the blue, the silver and wattage to help me make a well informed purchase... his clips are right on the money too.. to make ya feel a little better to trade the RX ES for the MAZ.... here's some KARMA, glad you pulled the trigger but you really were good either way you went. Jason

Thanks Jason! I hope to get the Weber 50watt silver/blue dog combo with it. If not I am sure the stock celestions will sound great as well. The Doc is still waiting on those webers. I think he has to hold off on a few amps until he gets them, which I don't think he likes to do. I was actually thinking about getting the new Celestion 50watt gold speakers. I just don't know how they would sound with this amp and if it didn't work it out it would be a costly mistake. What do you think? What are some other speaker options? I think billyguitar likes the tonetubbies. Have you had any experience with that speaker?

I was actually thinkin about the tone tubby for my 1x12 Z cab to try in it...they are awful expensive... and I really like the webers..
I thought if I liked the tubby I would be more apt to grab and use the Z 1x12 cab instead of one of the 2x12's for a real different sound (and it takes the louder volumes well since I'm thinking of using it in a 1x12)
as good as the Z 1x12 sounds I've just never been a big fan of a 1x12... but with the tubby that might be a reason to grab it... I also thought about tryin a EMI.. maybe a tonker that some of the guy's rave about.. that would REALLY make the 1x12 BIG sounding...
you could go with a tonker/ swamp thang.. lot of guy's like that combination but I haven't tried one yet...
I don't know if I'd spend alot of extra money on a speaker combination I didn't know anything about yet/ 50 watt gold... I not a big fan of the celestion blues... I like the weber alnico's better, I do like the celestion ceramics but thats just my opinion and it's totally subjective....
I DO LIKE the celestion vintage 30 / g12 h30 combination (especially in the Z-best) and you could always get the webers later on down the road and try them...
one speaker combo I REALLY LIKE with the MAZ SR that really sticks out to me if you like the alnico's is the two 30 watt alnico weber bluedogs.... you get all kinds of hair on em with those but it doesn't fart out out, has good bottom, is fat and sounds AWESOME... that's one reason I'd like a maz SR NR combo cause I'd put THOSE speakers in it...
good luck, I hate that about weber cause thats exactly what I'd put in it!!

I'm pretty sure that Weber makes the baskets for the Tone Tubby hemp cones. Makes the tonetubbies kind of an off shoot of the weber stuff.

Arun, Congrats on the MAZ 38! I have one on order right now also. Hopefully I'll have mine in about 3 weeks. I ordered a NR head since I loved the sound with a Z-Best. It's too bad that you had to let your RxES go, though; you made some great music with that amp. Your last set of sound clips were awesome. Having said that, I'm sure you're going to make some more great music with the MAZ. There's just something about that 38 NR; the Doc definitely hit on something great when he upgraded the model with the bigger transformers, the Jr's phase inverter and cut control.
