Hi Guys:)
Got my MAZ 38 Sr yesterday. Sounds great, but the reverb is not working:( Infact it's not present at all. A Little hum when the reverbknob is turned on all the way up, that's it.. Anyone got an idea what it could be? I have tested V3 and V4 infact all of them but it's not bad tubes. V5 (phase inverter) tube was not gloving hot so I replaced it. I've e-mailed Stu, still waiting for a reply. I live in Norway so sending it back is out of the question.

Are the cables hooked up well to the tank. Give them a twist where they are plugged into the tank.

Thanks. A small wire in the pan was broken. I've fixed it now. Works great.

The same thing happened with my Maz -- after about three months the reverb suddenly stopped working. Turned out to be a bad out jack in the reverb pan. It was easy to fix by I ended up switching to a long delay 6 spring reverb pan (as described in an earlier thread). I don't use reverb alot, but when I do, i prefer a deeper verb. That's interesting we had similar problems. I'm assuming it's the Accutronics tank and nothing with the amp itself.

Hi there! I had a Maz38 SR top send to Denmark last year from Fat Sound Guitars, and it came with a non-functioning reverb too. (So much for testing the amplifier before shipping!). Had to take the reverb-tank out (learned about the inside construction of the amp that way, not much room for the tank!) and found a tiny wire totally disconnected. By the help of a friend we did some soldering instead of the small metalpin-"connectioncs" to the tiny wires inside the tank. Problem was solved, but initially a bit annoying though. Stu (great guy!) offered sending a new tank to Denmark if necessary. I can't believe that little wire could be "shaken" lose during transportation, so I guess the tank was delivered to Dr Z that way??

Z sez Accutronics is the only company currently producing reverb pans...When he called them with concerns about QA and QC, they invited him to 'go somewhere else'! Reverb pans and airplanes (especially Transatlantic airplanes) go together like chili and orange juice....

Digital reverbs are getting good enough and cheap enough that Accutronics should be kissing amp builders asses so they don't switch over. A Holy Grail type reverb could easily be built into an amp. Some amps are already doing it. What are they thinking? ?
