So, all I own are 8 ohm cabs and the mini as most of you know is only 4 ohm. Don't get me wrong as a practice amp through the 8 inch that comes with it , truly amazing. But I have been playing around with dual amping with my maz and so on and using my external 1X12 G12h30 with the Mini. Just didn't sound great as it is an 8 ohm cab. So the other day I hooked both cabs up together giving me 4 ohms and holy crap. Amazing tone and break-up for 5 watts. So I took the plunge and modded the amp with a 8 ohm speaker jack and I could not be happier with my set up. The mini alone is a blast but then A/B/Y it with my Maz Jr set a bit on the clean side and it is (at least my) tonal bliss. Just wanted to pass on some fun!

Interesting to hear. I think there was a thread about this a while back--the 8 ohm tap is already there, and you just have to swap a wire, right? But with the 8 ohms, can you still use the combo speaker?

I drilled and added the second jack, then labeled so I don't make a mistake. Can't use them together but yes you can still use the 4ohm with the on board speaker when not using the ext cab.
