Is the 3db boost of the overdose adjustable? (like the airbrake is) I find that when I'm live and have the cabs mic'd that 3db is too much. I tried and was ok with benttop's method of leaving the overdose on all the time and bring it down with the guitar volume, but still would prefer to have it be something like a 1.5db boost. When i have it paired with my MAZ Jr and a bunch of pedals I only want to boost the RXES not the entire signal.

I figured out a workable solution for now. When I run 2 amps I just turn the non-RXES amp up to the point where enough of the overdose is blocked by the other amp. If I'm using just the RXES then I guess I'm o.k. with the turning down the guitar volume method. Still it would be nice to be able to have a little less overdose sometimes. Tube change?

It's hard wired. And the gain is related to the EF86, so it is doubtful that there are enough variations in EF86 gain out there to give you much latitude. Now if you wanted to alter the circuitry, I'm certain some hack somewhere would be happy to oblige, but I don't recommend that route.

Thanks Steve, no hacks gonna be messin' up the doc's prescription.
And thank you for always being the omniscient Wizard of Z. It is you (well, and a bunch of other amazing enthusiasts / wackos on this board) that have helped and inspired all of us, adding a fun and informative dimension..... blah, blah, blah.... basically, it's guys like you that make this brokeback for Dr. Z fellowship fun. Thank you, enough said.
So I've concluded that 3db boost is just right. I just didn't have either amp loud enough. A 3db overdose boost from a relative dead silence or from a RXES with the volume at 4 and airbrake on 4 seems like too much. Turn it up to say 6, airbrake on 3 and hit the overdose - perfect.
Like they say, "If it's too loud, you're too old." (or you just haven't lost enough hearing for it to sound good yet!)
