Greetings, I p/u a 15W Weber Blue Dog & I was wondering if a 15W speaker has enough wattage for the Mini head. Any Blue Dog users out there, would like to hear your input. I'm running my Mini with a Marshall 1974X ext cab loaded with a heritage 20W Greenback which sounds fantastic BTW......

I would say the Blue dog is very capable of handling the Mini. I believe a few people here have run them with the Celestion Blue also rated at 15 watts. I, like you, am using a single Heritage G12M and it sounds great. I did try a Weber alnico blue pup (10") with my Mini when I first got it and was not at all impressed with the sound, of course just my opinion. Let us know how that Blue Dog sounds.

Thanks Bluesdog. Just deciding if I should go with a 1X12 cab or 2X12 cab & pair up the Blue Dog with a Siver Bell. It's getting a little out of hand with the equipment but I'm tempted to run it in a 1X12 cab. Maybe this weekend (if the kids let me) I'll remove the Greenback out of the 1974X cab & give the Blue Dog a spin......

Sounds like fun. Just remember, if you are trying to keep volume down the easiest way to do it is by limiting the number of speakers you run. That said, sounds like you have quite the arsenal of speakers to choose from. Keep me posted as to the results of this speaker testing.

all I use is a blue dog. fantastic. bright though. I bet that greenback is nice for some smoother overdrive.

Update!!! I tried the Blue Dog this evening, & just like Edoetsh said it's a bit bright. I guess since I've been running the Mini mainly with the 1974X cab, Mini-Cabs sometimes the Z Best I'm so use to that darker tone/sound. I'm glad it has that British flavor which I love. So now I'm shopping for a 1X12 cab but this past Sunday I almost pulled the trigger on a Crate V212B cab new for $119. Remove the existing speakers that comes with the Crate, & like I mentioned to Bluesdog pair the Blue Dog with a Silver Bell. The Blue Dog is more articulate, & even though it's bright the treble is still smooth. It's a good change anyway.
