Hello,
What are you using your Jr for Music-wise? It is an extremely versatile beast. It doesn't have a whole lot of clean headroom, but it has more than enough for my applications.
I'm using it for covers and originals in a "rock-ish" type band. I've been pairing it w/ my MAZ Jr NR in stereo through a 2X12 cab. I have it set up pretty dirty:
Bass - 9:00 Middle - Dimed Treble - Dimed Volume- Dimed Master - 10:30-Noon Overdose on
We do stuff from the Police, U2, Audioslave, Johnny Cash, Social D, Beatles, Tom Petty, Led Zep, etc. What I love about this amp is it's versatility. I can go from a pretty nasty grit to nice clean w/ a sweep of the guitar's volume knob. I know most of the Doc's amps are this way, and hopefully I'll get the opportunity to own more. But this amp is just perfect for what I'm doing. The sound, wattage, responsiveness,... Just great.
So, what are you using yours for?

I use mine primarily for contemporary worship, which is pretty much modern rock. I love the cleans this thing produces and the grit as well. I use pedals to get me into higher gain and this thing takes pedals so well. It's like there inside the amp instead of in front on it. Doc made another great amp. This one is a keeper!

I just came home from playing the last of a 3 Friday gig at the L.A. County Fair. I took my Maz 38 combo and my Rx Jr head with a 1x12 Vintage Celestion open back cab as always. I used the Maz with my McCarty solid body the 1st set and the Rex the next 2 sets with my McCarty Hollowbody. I used my Tim or Blackstone OD to push it over the top. I was getting fantastic tones at very loud volumes. The music went from Beatles to Stones to Santana to Robben Ford to Warren Zevon (Werewolves) to Van Morrison (Have I Told You Lately/Crazy Love medley) to the song "Daddy's Home". We played 3 hours and covered quite a bit and the Rx Jr just covered it all wonderfully. I know the Maz had the verb and a bit more flexibility, but the Rx Jr can be kind of like the dirt bike with no helmet and the Maz more of a comfort ride if needed. I was just having too much fun and enjoying the Rx Jr to go back to the Maz. I'll use the Maz at church Sunday. That's makes it even, doesn't it?

I'm using it in a country rock band. Trace Adkins, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, etc. I'm using the head with a 1x12 Z convertible with a C-Blue Pretty sweet-I use a Timmy for a little extra OD. Most of the time I'm just using the amp.
I keep thinking that I would like to use a MAZ 18 NR withe the RXJr but I think I'm already hauling a lot of gear. Starting the load-out at 1:30 AM and then having to drive an hour after loading makes me want less gear!

fbb90,
We play pretty much everything you do. And, I will tell ya, I think my settings change everytime!!
Master Noon Treb at #4 Mid at #7 Bass at #3 Volume at #4
Dont use much of the OD switch. I have a few pedals: Zen, Timmy, Cusack Screamer and the usual modulation (Chorus, Delay, Phaser, Trem, and Reverb)
I wil say, with my 62RI Hot Rod Strat, with my Mr. Springgy pretty much all the way up....SURF IS UP!!!!
Cheers!!!
PS Mine is a Combo, with a C-Blue in it.

I'm using mine for classic rock, country(old and new) and P&W. This is a very versatile amp!
Primarily using my Strat, Carbon Copy Delay and MI Audio Blues Boy Deluxe OD into an open back 1x12(G12M). But I also love running it 4ohm into the 1x12 and 2x12....sounds huge. I'm jonesing for a Z best though and will get one in a couple of months. My eqing and Hi/Low input vary greatly.

I am with ya on that Jumpy!!! I think I will get either a Z Best or a 2x12 open back with some green backs in it. Just for a good wall'o'sound.

When I want to travel light, I've just been grabbing the RXJr head, my strat, and a Boss TU. One of the guys in my band keeps a no-name 1X12 cab at our rehearsal space w/ a junk Eminence something or another. Even w/ the questionable cab, Jr sounds great.
I'm still in my speaker crisis. I'm going to replace the speaks in my 1936 cab and I'm looking for another cab to go w/ the 1936. I found a 1960A Classic (w/ the Greenbacks) in mint condition for 6 bills. I'm real tempted, but I'm not sure I want to lug a 4X12. I love the idea of the Z 4X10, but there are no dealers in my area to hear one. It'd be buying "sight-unheard." Although it's hard to go wrong w/ any Z.
From crisp cleans to raunchy OD, this amp is just amazing.
