My maz is a little bit noisy (humming), even when the volume is not so high. Compared to the guitar´s output signal the hum volume is not distressing, (the maz sounds VERY loud) but when you stop playing, lets say with the volume knob at 9 o clock, humming is quite loud. Is it normal?? I´ve tried different guitars, single and humbuckers and also verified the tubes are ok and firmly placed into their sockets. I´m using a 2x12 guitar cab with Celestion Alnico blue/G12H heritage. I really love the sound of this amp, and I wouldn´t discard it for a studio situation, I´d just like the hum to be a little quieter. Any suggestions? It has fairly new tubes: GT for power and Tesla for the preamp section mainly. I thought on replacing the PI tube for a NOS tube. Is it necessary to adjust the bias when replacing just the PI???

My Rx has had a similar Hum from day one, basically you can hear it in a quiet room from 10 ft off. Been through 4 power amp tube changes, new rectifier, new pre tubes. same hum. I'm guessing it has to do with house ground but it's the same home or gig so maybe not. It has never been bad enough to send it in for a check up and after the first note...no hum. It'd be interseting to see what the doc says since a lot of his amps are pretty darn quiet

Why don't you try some kind of power conditioner. My old house was loud through my Mazerati, until I got a Monster Power conditioner. It also tells me if the outlet is grounded and what the voltage is, and it got rid of the hum. I find that TV's and computers and flourescent lighting add to hums.
One tube OD pedal I had really added a consistent hum as well, on or off.
