Hi,
I notice that my Maz38’s reverb makes ‘hushing/wooshing” noise when I stop playing. I am sure it does it while I am playing, but I don’t notice it.
When I turn the reverb knob all the way down, the “wooshing” stops.
It almost sounds like someone is tapping the reverb tank.
I'm just curious if anyone would know what it could be?

Try replacing V3, the 12AT7. If it still does it then replace V4, a 12AX7. If you still have a problem email me and I will give you phone contact info and we will step through a fix over the phone.

Thanks. I was hoping it was just a preamp tube problem. I retubed it a few weeks ago with all new tubes from Dougs Tubes, I guess one or 2 must be bad. I'll try it tomorrow and report back.

If it worked before the tube change then that is surely the issue especially if you plugged in a "new" 12AT7 as they can be horribly microphonic and inconsistent.
