As I learned from this forum and the Dr.Z site, all CG's come with EL84#6 power tubes. I have a brand new CG head and it has EL84#5, the 2nd CG head at the dealer was also equipped with EL84#5. What could be the reason for this? Are all the CG's for Europe sent with EL84#5 ?

I've had a number of Z amps, and all have come stock with either #5 or #6 Groove Tubes in the power section. This goes for both EL84 amps like the Ghia as well as amps with other power tubes. I wouldn't worry about it as the amp will sound just fine with either #5 or #6 in there.

Actually, the Doc used #6 and #5 and the difference is so slight as it would be impossible to notice even if you had dog ears.
Don't bother changing them .... as aj1169 said above ... "I wouldn't worry about it as the amp will sound just fine with either #5 or #6 in there. "
