I rehearsed tonight with the Prescription ES and all I can say [still] is WOW!!! It is such a killer amp. Tonight my rig was Trussart Steelcaster - Boss GT10 - RxES - 2x12 JBL e120 cabinet.
Maybe part of the tone was the time I have spent lately dialing in my GT-10 but man did this rig sound phenomenal. I can't wait for rehearsal tomorrow night!!!
What are your effects chains and guitars that sound best with the RxES? Care to share?

I really like my Grosh Tele with the RXES. The bridge pup has that CRANG thing going on, and the neck is smooth as butter.

Has the love affair with the Stingray been put on hold Steve? ;D

Has the love affair with the Stingray been put on hold Steve? ;D Not at all - the Stingray is a world class amp in every respect. I just have half a dozen new amps to fiddle with for a while. When I do the dual-head rig, my favorite for the styles of music we play is Stingray and RXES, both into Alnico Golds.

That sounds like a great duo Steve.

The RXES is an awesome amp. Through a quad with the overdose on it was a BEAST! Yet it was so sweet rolled back and clean. A very under rated amp

Just got an RXES myself. I use Les paul and Tele and really dig both guitars with this amp. After playing an Orange OR120 for the last 8 years it was like taking a blanket off of the sound. Pedals go REALLY well with this amp. My wah REALLY "wahs" now.

I can't wait to get mine.
Some of Steve (benttop's) clips actually help me decide. I will be interested to compare it to my Maz invasion once it arrives. I'm in two minds as to whether to get a single Celestion Gold for it that I can also use with my Ghia head as well or maybe something a little cheaper like an Eminence texas heat. I have got a Marshall 2x12 G12h30 cab I know would sound fantastic with it as well but I really want something that is going to knock the volume down compared to that thing.
In the end it came down to either the RXES or a Stangray for a rig with big luscious cleans for rhythms. The KT45 was put on an indefinite hold......well for now anyway. Then again Steve has 6 so I think I may need another to catch him anyway. ;D

Well George I'm jealous. That is one cool amp let me tell ya. I think speakers will play a big part in the tone you want to get out of it. Through an old marshall quad with the overdose on it was just about as good as it gets for me. Like to hear my 66 thru that quad to.

Hey Congrats George! You'll love the RXES - it sounds great with almost any speaker from my experience here. You might want some kind of attenuator though - it is seriously loud!

Thanks very much Jaye and Steve.
I have a really good feeling about the RXES, I have been down the attenuator road before and not liked it but I think by everyones recommendation will have to get myself an airbrake and give it a chance.
I was listening to some of your clips you posted about 2 years ago when you first joined the forum and the unadulterated clean tones you were getting straight in with that grosh tele were just sublime. I think it was that "blues" clip that sold me.
Thanks again.

Don is sending it up on Monday. I think it should arrive by Wednesday. I can't wait. I got myself an airbrake for it as well on a few people recommendations. In the end it came down to either it or a Ray for big cleans. But i think there lies a little more under the hood than cleans in this beast. If I really like it and it does what I want I "honestly" can't see myself still GAS-ing for a KT45.......LMAO! ;D

The RXES probably should have been my next amp. It's awesome. I can't help having fantasies about a stereo rig with the Route 66 and RXES into two old marshall quads. Oh My Lord! Must get a touring gig with Pink...or someone playing stadiums.

I think it's going to sound pretty righteous going into this Marshall 2x12 g12h30 cab I have but I can't see myself playing out with it anywhere. I'm tossing up whether to either get a single weber blue or an Eminence Texas heat for it. It might even sound pretty good with my weber1265 that I got from OMS about a month ago and that will help to tame it as I think that speaker is 97 db. The airbrake is definitely going to come in handy. Let me know when you're up next time Jaye, I have managed to collect a fe more "toys" since you were here last.

No kidding, you are becoming Aussie Z-Fest! If you had a 'Ray and or GT I'd probably fly up next weekend! (Get some cheap flights from my sis at Virgin Blue) 26 degrees (C) down here today, ah....but 16 tomorrow Nice time to be up your way like I was this time last year. And I could go for a rump steak at the Sandbar in Ballina. Mmmmmm, meaty.

I can't say I will ever get a Maz GT. I'm just not really into that sort of thing and it was either going to be a Ray or the RXES but the EZG-50 might just make it on the list as would a 4x10 Dr Z cab as well.
How is that Route 66 of your going Jaye....? ;D

How is that Route 66 of your going Jaye....? ;D My 66 rocks it's socks off. It's really all I need. I just have to get over the "want" bit. I'm not ever getting rid of it.

Good to hear Jaye. I think the only Dr Z amp I might get rid of would be the Invasion now that I'm getting the RXES but I can't say I will even do that. I love all of them. Since getting these amps I have never looked back and wanted another Fender,Marshall or Vox.

It just arrived today........ Like Arnie said "I'll be back" No need for an oozi 9mm or 45 longslide with laser sighting. This amp nearly took my head off when I plugged it into my Marshall 2x12 g12h30 cab. It should have been called the "Medussa." I can't wait for my buddy to get back from yet another one of his bali surfing trips. His R9 is calling me. I can see why Tracci Gunns chose this thing but to me the cleans are out of this world. I now wish I would have bought a celestion gold before the a$$ fell out of the Australian dollar. I'm going to have to settle for my weber 1265 which is very nice nonetheless and a Eminence Texas Heat. This has finally ended my search for a big clean......case closed!

No but that 57 Gold Top RI is looking like more of a possibility.
I think I might take a pause and get acquainted with my new RXES for a while.
Adios amigos, I'm off to twiddle some knobs.
