Please give me a little insight on this amp. I presently have a DR z Maz JR 18 w reverb. Main questions are:
Does the amp break up pretty early? How much volume difference will I be able to tell?? Is the ES a bright amp?? Does it take pedals well?? Has the combo model been discotinued??
Just a few general questions. any other input would be appreciated. Thanks KJL??

"Does the amp break up pretty early?" I would say not. With the Overdose ON you need your volume up around noon to get into hair territory. By then it is quite loud. "How much volume difference will I be able to tell??" Quite a lot actually. This is a powerful amp. "Is the ES a bright amp??" It can be, but it has a lot of treble control, so you can also get it fairly warm. "Does it take pedals well??" I always thought it did, but this is a bit subjective. "Has the combo model been discotinued??" Not at all. If you go to the Z web site and check the price sheet the 2x12 and 1x12 combos are both still listed there. Other input: Consider an Airbrake. You'll never get to the dirt without one.

Is there a lot of tone differences between the ES and JS models? How loud is a JS compared to a Maz Jr, same more less? How about the break up, is the JS as clean as the ES with the OD off?

[glow=limegreen,2,300]-J-[/glow] My impression of the RXJr vs the RXES is that it is the exact same amp only quieter. Other than the minor differences you can expect from tubes, they sound identical to me. As far as volume goes, I think the Maz Jr might be slightly louder. It would be a pretty small amount though. If I were going to gig with only the RXJr I'd probably use a pretty efficient speaker like an Alnico Blue or Gold, or maybe a Tonker.
