I forgot my pedalboard on the way to band rehearsal tody. I had to play stright into my RXES. Wow. I may ditch the pedals from now on. Clear and crisp and full sounding. Usually I use a maxon ad999 delay and a demeter compresser. What an amp! The more I play it the better it gets.

It's surprising how much pedalboards can change the sound. I start out with none, then add a pedal, then a pedal board, and pretty soon I have pedals falling off every edge. Then I plug straight in and have my "oh yea" moment.

I hear both of you. I would say in the last couple of years, I have gone through about 30 pedal. My pedal board has had as few as 2 pedals and as many as as 10-12. Currently, my pedal board is the same for all three of my amps (RxES, SLO, Vox AC50). It has my Fuchs Valve Job, Creation Audio MK 4.23 (booster), Korg PitchBlack tuner, and I am getting a Digilog delay, wah, and a few others eventually. I also have a Boss GT-10 that I use occassionally. On occasion, I have found what you have. That is, plugging directly into either of my amps is so easy and fun. The tone is incredible out all of them but the limitations of effects is not practical for my rehearsals with the band. Sitting around the house is a blast when going direct though.

Definitely gotta have a tuner, they save you at gigs. The only other pedal I have to have would probably be a wah. I like my other pedals, but just the RXES is a great sound!

It's funny. Before I had Z amps. I was using a fender Hot Rod Deville and an Alessandro working dog. Both were great amps, but I needed to run an overdrive pedal in front to really get them to sound their best.
Both of my Zs (RXES and Maz18NR) I use without any overdrive pedals. I have a ZenDrive on my board but it is on maybe 10% of the time. I find the overdrive from the amp to be much more natural sounding.

If it was up to me I would make you louder by %25. Just my 2 cents. YMMV
