the go to is v 12 oclock b 12 oclock t 3 oclock Wow you are polar opposite of me. I tried doing a recording with the tone controls both at 2 oclock and it was a tad to bright. I am using it with a weber blue dog alnico 75 watter in an open back cab so that shouldnt make it bright. Plus I am still figuring out my zendrive too. I actially think I like my rc booster better then zen drive

yeah, I like it bright. NOt Twin bright but bright and with the G&L line up and favoring the 2x10 cab I'm using I have no issues there. I'm sure if you weren't into playing country/surf it would be to bright
I just got that LovePedal Eternity and think its just wonderful with the Z-28. I got it set up nice and light. Totaly surprised that I'm able to get the pop of my clean sound with the pedal on. Something that I have always missed in pedals.

Yeah, the zen drive is good for really cutting through using the voice know but it does color the tone. Its not transparent like the RC Booster and I usually want drives to be transparent but with added gain. Yeah, I went home for luch and tried your setting to bright for crunch guitar but not bad for clean. I am more or a hard rock player so I like my amps darker and warmer. Its funny cause my favorite country guitar tone is from Rascal Flats and its probably cause he uses a Bogner xtc

With the Z-28 if I want a crunch tone I go 3,3,3 and depending on the guitar a pedal or two.
With that white Asat in my avatar. Those pickups are over wound and are pretty hot with alot of bass responce. Kinda like a p-90 but with the clarity a P-90 can't live up to. So, I end up play just about everything on that guitar.
If I need something heavier the Mesa Maverick comes out to play. Some would say it to be a brown sounding amp. Set low gain yeah, but cranked up and about 50% gain and a good tele. I'm as heavey as I wanna be.....
Cool tread although it's only you and I at this point.

V - 1:30 T - 1:00 B - 11:00
Running into a 4x10 stack (Z 2x10 and Carmen Ghia 2x10 combo) - using a Lentz SSL and popping the Flying Dragon for Leads (great booster for the Z28).
Now if I could just get Z to make me a 3 tube or 4 tube version of the Z28; for just a touch more headroom/volume.

Well, I just got mine today, but so far I'm really digging volume dimed and the treble and bass at 3 o'clock with my Strat. I haven't tried the Tele yet, but my settings usually chance a little with that guitar.

I usually read/learn more on this forum than I post, but I'll share what I've come up with over the last few months.
V - 12 T - 12 B - 11 Those settings are running with a stock Z-Best cabinet and a Tele. The tone and volume controls get a lot of work. We play mostly the newer country and classic rock material. I have a 1x12 with a Celestion Century that I got from Uncle Pat that sounds great (and much lighter than the Best) but the additional bottom from the bigger cab makes a huge difference. I haven't tried a 2x10 and a 1x12 combo yet, but I'm thinking it might be worth a try. I also run a Deluxe Reverb at the same time in an A/B/Y configuration which really adds another dimension. I'm a pretty happy camper on my side of the stage! Jack

Any info/ideas appreciated .... apparently I am having g.a.s. for another cabinet .... another '28 ..... and maybe a couple of other Zs ;D Cheers always, eh Joel

Hey Joel, Yes, I do mike it.....SM57's. I have not tried any bucker's, but I do occasionally use a PRS Soapy, and with the little higher output form the P-90's, it breaks up quite nicely. I have Ghia and a MAZ18JrNR, but they are sitting at home for the time being. I've been toying with ordering a 4x10 cabinet to use instead of the Z-Best. I would like to hear one first. Help a brother out, get a 4x10 and let me know what you think!!!

I think I found my sweet spot today. Volume near 3 o'clock, bass just about on and treble set at about 2 o'clock. Can't beleive how much bottom end I still get with the bass barely on, but it works.
I'm using an old style Z 2x10 cab with Z speakers.

I wanna try my Route 66 thru it once it's fixed. (If he ever gets it fixed)
