Played the RXES thru my 2-10 last night, naked (the guitar signal, not me) except an Airbrake.
I realy heard the "percussive" quality through the 2-10s. Wow is all I can say. Both the Ray and RXES have sounded great through the 2-10.
Wondering if I really need the 2-12 cabs. Just get another 3 2-10 cabs and stack 'em. A pint-sized stack!
Really, though. Very, very wonderful tones through the 10's!

I tried the RXES through a 4-10, and it just lacked the punch and midrange that a 2-12 would have. I imagine a 2-12 and a 4-10 or 2-10 would sound really sweet though, they would probably complement each other really nicely. That being said, is it hard to make a Z amp sound bad? Different flavors with the speakers, but it doesn't sound bad.

Was the 4-10 a Z?
The 2-10 I used is a Z. I have played my Ray through it and i have loved that too.
I used to have a couple Fenders, a Hot Rod Deville and Blues Deville. While not the greatest amps, they did ok. But I wasn't always sure that Iliked the 4-10's that they had. Looking back, I could have tried some different speaker combos. But that was before I got edumacated on the Z-Board!
I found the Z 2-10 to hold its own against a Z-best. I'm sure there is a little difference in low and mid response, but I didn't have any problems getting some good "thump" out of the 2-10.
PLUS, it is small and light!

I need to try the 2x10 some time, because most guys here who have them think they are the shiznit.

Yeah, it was a 4x10. It sounded really good, no doubt about that, but I just wanted that growl that a 2x12 has. A 10 isn't going to have the punch a 12 has, but on the other hand, a 12 isn't going to have the punch a 15 has...

I play my RX-ES exclusively through my 4x10 cab, and I find it to be very punchy, and cuts through better than the 2x12's that I've tried. To be fair, they weren't ZBests though I'd really like a Z 2x10.
