I love my Perscription ES. The best sounding amp I have ever played through. Here's the rub...I recently bought one with a footswitch to use in place of a boost or overdrive pedal. I found the volume to be way too much between overdose on and off.
Is there anyway to lessen the boost via tubes?
Thanks!

My RXES has the panel mounted switch. At first I wanted to have it modded for the footswitch, but I found that it works a LOT better if I just turn it on and leave it on, then adjust it out with my guitar volume control. Try it - it really works great.

Playing it dry with single coils, I find the OD to be just about right for me to kick in for a solo while playing in a band setting.
I did have a few stumbles when I first got it when I kicked the OD in with an OCD, AC, etc already on. Seemed to increase volume much greater than dry.
I'm just a little more carefull about setting the od pedals volume to mesh with the RX od switch, or I turn the od pedals off and just use the switch.
I do use an Airbrake. I'm finding I like just the RX and kicking in its od for most of my playing. The pedals I now use just for a little extra crunch or if a song needs an over the edge guitar.

Don't forget the airbrake! And you'll want to tweak a balance between the RX volume and the Airbrake setting. Might also need to tweak the tone settings. I found it got a little brittle with the RX cranked and the Airbrake at full. A few nudges and I was able to smooth that out.
