I have my Carr Mercury on ebay now(the purple one). I have a 65 Deluxe Reverb point-to-point wiring. I mostly play at home and sometimes at the school where I teach. I play anything from Brad Paisley to Hendrix. If I keep the Deluxe Reverb would I be better off with the RxJr or the Maz Jr? I am thinking the RxJr would be the best compliment since it is voiced like an old Beatles Vox. Any advice?

I faced this same decision. My conclusion was that the RX Jr covered less of the same sonic space as the maz 18. I played the RX ES and the Stang Ray and decided that i wanted additional percussiveness and immediacy provided by the EF86 type amps. I also auditioned the maz 18 and liked it very much but I felt that I bonded with the RX ES. I kept dithering between the maz and the RX because my rational side said the maz was more versatile. Ultimately I decided that I wanted something distinctly different from my three mid 60s BF Fenders and i wanted the characteristics of the RX in a smaller package. So, the RX Jr was the choice.
For me, I couldn't have made a better decision. I truly love this amp with the Celestion Blue 1x12 cab. The bass player in my band heard it at my house (not at practice) and is mouth was wide open. I can't wait to gig it in about a week. Today I tried it with pedals and interestingly, the pedals that worked well with it are different that the ones I use with my Fenders.
I still like my Fenders and wouldn't think of selling them. I use my Vibro Champ weekly at church and it is perfect for that application. But for the bar and outside gigs the RX Jr seems like it will be perfect for my application.
I still intend to acquire an maz 18 nr head down the road with a 1x12 cab with a G12H Heritage in it. With these four pieces I think I can play anything!
Thanks to the good doctor for some great amps! I am completely stoked by the RX Jr.
Good luck on your decision--let us know what you decide. Just remember--you can't go wrong with either the maz 18 or the RX Jr.

I ordered an RXJr redhead. I already have a Deluxe Reverb so I went for a totally different sound. It may get here by the weekend. I got it from Midtown Music in Ga. That is where I got The Mercury. It shipped an hour after I bought it and I can't wait!

I have to just use the Weber 12F150 25w that is in the Deluxe Reverb. Right now I can't afford a $500 Cab. I will just set the RXJr on top of the DR and use the amp as a cab. I still can't wait.

When you get it, check out some of benttop's postings about his settings. I found them to be very helpful. As he says, the tone controls behave a little differently--they increase the volume as well but they are really versatile. I've been able to easily dial in each guitar. Also, the high and low inputs make a big difference as well. With the EQ, different inputs, volume and master, and of course the overdose, there a tone of different tones in there. Let us know what you think when she arrives! Congrats again! Bob

The honeymoon isn't over for me and the RX jr. Great amp. That isn't to say that the Maz Jr isn't killer either. I couldn't decide so I had to have both! Best of luck... Paul
