After much debate, I've decided to bite the bullet and buy a Mini Z. I was debating between a Savage Macht 6 and a few others. The Savage was all lined up but fell through. I figured it was a sign to go down the Z path.
For my purposes, the Z is probably the best choice anyway. I want something I can dime in the house without upsetting the neighbors and the built in attenuator should help.
Most likely I will get it along with a Z 2-10 cab. That way I will have the cab for my next purchase.
Now all I have to do is choose what color and if I want new or used. The used pricing I've seen is so close to new, that it might be worth the money to get my color choice. Any suggestions?

I wanted a red one but could never find one. I ended up getting a black one and I love it. BTW, diming a Mini Z head, even with the att. at 4, is still damn loud A 2x10 cab from Dr Z would be a lovely thing to have, for sure!

Not really. Your making a wise choices. Resale on a Dr.Z is very good. Totaly worth the extra money for new one. More so a amp you know your gonna dime every second it's turned on, but doubt anything is gonna happen. The 2x10 is a great choice even if your not looking into the next amp you might get. DAVE

I will get mine on the 19th of june. I can´t wait to play thru my 1-12 TT alnico. I use this cab with my MazJr and GT and like it a lot. I have some NOS preamp tubes to try. Can´t wait to plug my guitars in. Since playing Z-amps I sold all my other amps and never looked back. The last non-Z (original 1965BF SR is waiting to find a new home - maybe I´ll replace it with a EZG 50).

NOS tubes make a big difference in the Mini. I ended up putting in an old GE 12AX7 with the white lettering, and a used (but still very good/hot) Amperex EL84. It really warmed up and has a great "grind" to it. My original GT EL84 went microphonic on me after about 4 months worth of use.

I'm looking forward to trying out different tubes in mine. I just bought a red head and should have it in a few days. Here's a picture if you're interested.
