Has anyone installed a cut control on their Ghia? Is there a Dr Z approved schematic for this?

No. No. What are you trying to achieve?

Has anyone installed a cut control on their Ghia? Is there a Dr Z approved schematic for this? If there is an amp that screams to be LEFT ALONE as designed it is the Carmen Ghia. A cut control? Maybe you are talking a Ghia head running through an array of JBL 075 ring radiators? Seriously .... you don't want to put anything else in the signal path of these amps or change a thing. I'd love to know why the tone filter that is so great on these amps would leave you wanting for a cut control as the range of the magic tone circuit in these amps is about as good as it gets.

The tone pot on your guitar should do what you need.

Actually I'm using a cab with 14 out of phase piezo tweeters...get serious! I'm not going to bore you with details, but I've been a pro session guy in Nashville for 25+ years and am pretty focused on what I'm looking for. Yes, this is a killer amp and the tone control has a great range. I've used Vox amps extensively in the studio and as rental backline on road dates. The cut knob rolls off that ultra high freq range that complements Strats and Pauls, but can be annoying with a Tele. Taking the tone purist approach, I was looking for a way to do this with the Ghia without adding a pedal. Yesterday I tracked with a 2-10" cab with ceramics and found it to be a lot closer. Maybe some 10" alnicos are the answer. Dunno, work in progress...Thanks

Have you tried Alnico Blues? They are pretty nice in the Ghia.

Try a Tonestyler tone pot on your Tele. It has detented positions for rolling off the treble while leaving the midrange intact.
