The fan is noisy. Absolutely can't record with it and can't mike it up for live - noise comes thru when not playing.
Suggestions for DIY replacement components or other fixes?
Big time bummer at the moment...have studio and tour stuff pending. Need a quick but solid fix.

Disconect it for now, it is attached by plug at the fan base. Amp will work just fine without it. Replacement can be purchased on line at Mouser Electronics .

Mine started grinding too. years ago I had a Boogie that did the same thing. I used to buy little box fans at Radio Shack. I would also buy a cheap extension cord and hard wire it to the fan after cutting off the female end of the cord. Then I put legs where two of the screw holes are. Then when you lay it down in the bottom of the amp it can draw air under it and cool the tubes. I always haul one of those little contraptions to use with a vintage amp.
