After much research I finally decided to order my first Dr. Z. I got it last week and have been loving every minute of playing through it. I played many different amps in stores and what not and nothing stacked up to the tone of the Z amps. I knew I needed to get one because every time I heard one live I thought to myself "thats the best sounding amp I've ever heard." I've been sold on Dr. Z amps since I first heard one.
I got a Maz 18 NR head, black with salt and pepper grill, and a matching 212 open back cab. I am thrilled with the tones from this new rig. I'll have to post some pics when I figure out how to do that.
As I have noticed from looking at the forum, many of you are Z owners who upgraded from a Fender hot rod deluxe, which is exactly the boat i'm in. I never thought I would have more versatility from a one channel amp than I had from my 2 channel amp, but I definitely do.
I had it out last night for the first time at a Jam that I go to once a week with some buddies of mine, and the Z was just amazing! It was even better than I thought it would be. cut through everything.
Thank you to everyone on the forum. I did a lot of reading here before I got my amp. I felt that I was able to make a more informed decision after reading the posts here. all of you have been a lot of help, and everyone seems very friendly. And thank you Dr. Z for building the best amps around.

Glad you're enjoying your Jr. I know I'm absolutely in love with mine. I've had mine for a month and I'm discovering things I love about it. If you've had yours for a week, get ready cause it can only get better.

Congrats on the new Maz. I'm looking to get one soon. After playing one in a store I fell in love with the sound. I really didn't think it could be as good as everyone around here says, but I was wrong. Great sounding amp. Makes the Fender HR series sound like junk in comparison. You get what you pay for.

I just picked up a 2x10 Maz Jr NR this week. Only played with it a few hours so far but man...it's a blast. It may move my beloved Z-28 to "#2 status" real soon. I was really surprised at the headroom available....nothing like the 18 watts in a Carmen Ghia.
This un's a keeper.
