I just got home with my brand new (used) Maz 18. But when I plugged in at home, I noticed a strong buzz that I traced to the reverb. It goes away as the reverb is dialed out. Also with the reverb high there's a microphonic feedback. I guess it's obvious that I change out the 12AT7 in V3, but do you have any advice or recommendations?

I see no one else wanted to touch this one, so I give it a shot.
When you said you brought it home it hummed, does that mean it didn't were you bought it, and it is a problem at your house/room/wiring ?

Thanks, good question. But I think it was more that the ambient noise in the music store covered it to my well-worn ears. I immediately noticed the buzz when I tried it in my office first, and then in my home. Increased when turning reverb up, went away when dialing the reverb out. I pulled a 12 AT7 from my Deluxe Reverb and stuck it in V3 amd the buzz is gone, although the reverb still feeds back at high levels. The AT7 that I pulled out of the Z was a no-name, just said, AT7 CHINA. I'm wondering if the previous owner replaced the preamp tubes with lower quality. V1 is microphonic so I may just retube the whole preamp. What brand / type do you recommend? It's stiill the best sounding amp I've played and I've had some pretty good ones, like a Bad Cat Cub 15R, and a Mesa Lone Star Special. Thanks, Jon S.
