I like the blondes because that's my favorite Fender color. All three of my Zs are blonde.

I prefer black just for the dirt factor, other than that it doesn't matter. I like blond, but I had a blond bassman that got dirty just looking at it. Real men wear black.

I think the 'relic' models sound best - a lil' wood showing thru the tolex and a hole in the grill. Makes you play cooler notes and get all the 'hot' chics at the end of the night too. Sometimes it'll even buy you an extra cup of coffee. Red amps make you play faster Blue amps make you play fewer notes with more feel Purple amps make you wear high-heel boots and play scultped 'art' guitars with lots of fuzz Blonde amps make you forget your parts but you still smile and giggle thru the clams Green amps make you buy really expensive gear to match the uniqueness of your amp Orange amps make you want to play 70's rock with an SG Black amps make you just sound like you... ;D

so does the colour affect (or EFFect) the way it sounds to you based on the colour of the tolex . . . it is just an interesting pondering thang . . . . If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, does it make a sound? How do I know the color blue to you, is the same color blue to me? Which came first the chicken or the egg? Like the sand through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives.

Snakeskin tolex,a chrome face plate and red chicken head knobs could be cool.............well you never know ,could even use that colour scheme on a future model and call it the "Cobra" after the famous 70's muscle car. ;D

as for the spelling of COLOR . . . I am from the USA and have always spelled it like this humour, colour, Saviour, . . . . english, european . . . tomatos tomatoes Must be something in how you were taught to spell then . I've only known the folks in the USA spell colour as "color" and cheque as "check" ( one from your bank) Just noticed your spelling of it and though you must be from Canada but hey....works for me ! ;D The spell check tries to correct it BTW .

Everything 'fects the tone. The fact that my maz is a blond color vs a North of the border blond coloured maz. Heck............I was frettin' over changing my Giah knobs. Round to chicken heads. I hear you can get more "sqwack" using the chicken head knobs. Now I am wondering what the effect of usin' ONE chick head and one round knob would be. A "best of both knob worlds".......and which knob would be best in the tone position and which in the Volume spot? Which brings me to another question. Is it Nob or Knob?

When I wear my red suit, I like to use my red tolex. When I wear my black suit, I like to use my black tolex. When I wear nothing at all, I like to use the blonde tolex.
