I have a brand new PRS swamp ash HSH with a 5 way blade and just got this 18w jr with a v/30, I cant find a crisp/warm clean tone, ive tried for 2 nights now, even worse on neck pickup, i use my pedals to get the distortion. I have a homemade strat SSH with a peavey wolfgang neck w/ anderson pickups and it sounds awesome, no matter where i put it. My clean tone I like pushed with a hint of hair when picked hard, but the prs seems dark, even worse on neck pickup and then try to overdrive the neck pickup, it gets worse. Help!!!!!!!!! I paid 1900.00 for this guitar. i will tell you on my peavey classic 30 with matched tubes and a weber silver bell, its does awesome

Try the low input. You will probably need to change other settings as well. For example, if it is too dark for you, turn up the cut and/or treble. If the Maz sounds good with another guitar and the PRS sounds good with another amp, it seems that you just need to play with the setup to dial it in.

Man, that sucks. It seems that most people around here think their Maz will do it all. I hope that's true, but sometimes what a guitar sounds like paired with one amp just doesn't sound like what you want with another.
Hope you can find your sound.

Some just do not work together.
the V30 is not the best speaker with a JR IMO.
I have a home built Strat that just sounds like doo with my Jr, but it kills with my '68 Pro Reverb, all my other Guitars sound good with both amps...go figure?

My humbucker guitar sounds great with the Jr.
High Input Volume: 10:00 Treble: noon Mid: noon Bass: 11:00 Cut: 10:00 Master: 9:00 (or as loud as the situation can stand)

Try hooking the Weber speaker to the Jr before you make the swap. I think on the PRS you would want to lower the mids and bass a lot, crank up the cut, and use the low input as previously suggested. Also turn up the master and lower the first volume.

I have a hot rails loaded Tele, that's buckers, and it kills with the Jr.
I have a G12H in it and I have to totally kill the bass, treb and mids near noon, volume 11:00ish, master to taste/room/situation (I like noon) and cut at least 10:00, on up to 2:00 for some edge, Lo imput.

I found the sweet spot in my Jr. yesterday, but it wasn't a clean tone. Used a Deluxe Nashville Tele with the neck pickup, which is a Twang King. Also had the BB going.
Low Input Volume - 9 Treble and Bass - Full Mid - None Master - 3 Cut - 9 Verb - 10
BB was Gain -12, Vol - 9, Bass and Treble - Full

A friend just bought a new Swamp Ash Special and its a great guitar...sounds really good, but neither a typical humbucker tone or all that strat-like. He likes it though, and so do I. I've heard him play it through a Reverend Kingsnake and a Pro Jr. Although I have a Maz 38 and a Carmen Ghia, we haven't tried it with a Z yet. I'm sure you can get the Maz Jr dialed in for it.
