I am looking for a second amp to run in stereo with my Maz 18 Jr. Is anyone out there running a Ghia alongside the Jr? I would like to A/B between the two also, but wasn't sure if they are too similar. Any other suggestions for a good match in the Ghia price range?

Hey, I'm running my Maz Jr 210 combo alongside a Ghia, but I use the Ghia to power up a rotary cabinet. Sounds great - different enough to keep things interesting and spacious, yet not a "polar opposite" when it comes to overall voicing. Not a fair comparison, b/c I'm not using a regular ol' speaker cab...

I think the two are different enough. I own both a Ghia and MAZ Jr. combo, both 1x12 and the MAZ is the non-reverb model. I had the same problem deciding on a second Z amp. I got the Ghia first and was a little hesitant on getting the MAZ in fear that the two would be too similar. I find the MAZ to have a more versitile voicing, meaning that I can cop some pretty convincing Fender, Marshall, and Vox tones with it while still maintaining that signature Z sound. The Ghia is probably the most unique amp I've played. It really does have it's own voicing, and has the best natural tube overdrive that I've ever heard. I've been very happy with both amps, and I think you can't go wrong with either one. One trick to use if you get both is to use the Ghia as your crunch sound. I think the MAZ has a little more clean head room depending on how you dial it in, so that's something you might find useful.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Sounds like they work together well. I love my Maz Jr. with the BB, but it sounds like I might want to use the Ghia for overdriven sounds and keep the Jr. clean. I also like to have reverb on the clean channel, so that might work. If either of you use an Xotic BB with the Ghia, I'd like to know how that sounds compared to the BB/Jr. combination.
