I have a Maz JR I bought in or around 2000. I'd like to know, from edge to center, which tube is which excluding the power and rectifier tubes (those I can easily recognize.) I am most interested in which tube is the phase inverter. Also, anyone know these amps ship(ped) with balanced phase inverters? BTW, mine is a green combo, pretty unique. -- buddachile

Phase inverter is closest to the power tubes. To my knowledge, they don't ship with balanced PI.

Very cool looking amp, for sure.
If you are looking at the back of the amp, the tube to the far right is V1. This, typically, would get your "best" 12AX7 as it is the first pre-amp tube in your chain.
Next one from the right is V2, second gain stage. Then V3 is a 12AT7 for reverb send, V4 is a 12AX7 for reverb recovery. V5, which , as mentioned is closest to the power tubes, is the PI. They don't ship with balanced PI's to my knowledge, but it doesn't hurt to have one there. Then, obviously the two EL84's are the power section, with the GZ34 recto sitting right behind them.

Very cool looking amp! It kind of has a neat "Vox" look.
