I was wondering...I have a Maz 2X10 NR,and was thinking about adding an external cab. (2x12).
Do you have to unplug the existing speakers or do you have to match the ohms of the input jack that's not being used to run them together?

Anybody? 2 - 10's at 4 ohms, can I plug in an 8 ohm cab in the other jack? I Love my Junior, All the guys in the band say it has improved the over all sound. Eye B

You should only have one of the speaker output jacks in use at a time. Unless the speakers were changed, the 10's should be plugged into 8ohm jack. If you run another 8 ohm cab in parallel with the 2 10's, you should plug into the 4 ohm jack.

Don't bother with intentionally mismatching your impedances for another sound either. Hard on your output tubes and you won't like it as much in the long run.

Thanks and you're right, the 2 x 10's are 8 ohms. I've got a variety of cabinets to try out ( not that I don't love the sound of the 10's), more just curiosity. I have a 4 ohm 2 x 12 Garnet cab and a single 12 Celestion.
How do you like your Godin LG? I was thinking of trading my Ampeg Superjet for one?
Cheers

I'm not familiar with the Superjet so I don't know how to compare it, but I *really* like my Godin. It sounds great and is versitile. The coil tap gives a very good single coil sound. I don't know this is stated anywhere, but I'm almost positive it is chambered. It is fairly light and it is quite loud unplugged. I think the maple top gives it some snap and brightness, which I like. Anyway, I'd recommend it to anyone, especially at the price. Remember, the one I'm talking about is the LG Signature, so I'm not sure about the regular LG.
