I like the big wide open sound of the maz 38 but am often just using my amp for stage volume, then miced through a P.A. I'm wondering if Low volume on the maz 38 is comparable to low volume on the maz 18. Which amp sounds better at lower volumes. If the 38 sounds just as good at low volumes then I'd rather have the extra headroom for the odd gig that I need it.

While I only have the Jr., I would think the Jr. would sound better at lower volumes. This is based only on the speculation that being able to crank the power tubes more on the Jr. would sound better.
However, it's probably not that much of a difference.

i've had the jr for several months. only had the sr a few weeks. havn't got to know the sr to well at this point but it seems that the jr has a little better tone at low volume. imo
