Anyone use a Klon with a Ghia? Just got a Klon and hope to try it with a cranked Ghia soon. It seems they would be an excellent match.

I had a Klon years ago, I can see how it would work well with the Zs. I have a Fat Boost that SCREAMS with my Z amps.

I hooked up with a fellow TGP forumite to compare amps a year or so ago. He had a Ghia (I had not yet played one) and wanted to hear my Z28.
He did have the KLON. Tried it for a bit, and thought it was fine, but didn't mess with it much.
I use the RC Booster with both my Z's with great results. AC Booster too.

Fat Boost does work great with a Ghia. The one I use is actually a Pro Tone Mach II (same circuit as the Fat Boost, but without a control). The Ghia really likes FET-based boosts like the Fat Boost circuit, as well as Germanium boosters (Keeley Java Boost is tons of fun with a Ghia). Of course with a Ghia, you don't really need anything other than a guitar in front of the amp for great drive, but it's fun to have options.
As a word of caution, I've heard it's not a good idea to slam the input very hard with a booster if you've already got the amp running wide open.

I have been using the Klon for a couple of weeks now and love it with the Z's. You can set the Z's with a bit more bass and the Klon add's some sparkle back in.
I do have an older version of the Fatboost that I haven't tried with Ghia. I'll give that a shot as well. My main OD of late has been a Pro-Analog Dual Drive. It actually makes your amp sound like YOUR amp overdriven at lower volumes. Most pedals don't deliver on that claim but the DD does!

How does the Dual Drive sound at regular volumes to push the amp even harder? I've been interested in trying that pedal, but too many pedals, too little time.

Fellas... try the Fish Factory pedal by Menatone. it sounds unbelievable with the Ghia... esp with a humbucker guitar like LP or McCarty. It is basically 2 pedals in one... clean boost on one side, midrange drive(a la tube screamer) on the other. you have to check it out!

The Dual Drive is excellent at normal volumes for pushing the amp harder. I have used it successfully with several amps and they all seem to retain their inherent tone. It's definately a "keeper" pedal.
