I bought a used Maz Jr. 18 2x12 on ebay. It rattles as at moderate to high output. I was shipped via UPS. I probably need to open the back cover and tighten all screws and, or have a tech look at it. Any suggestions? It has the reverb.
It has a 30 watt Avatar Hellatone and a 60 watt Hellatone speakers. Are these stock currently? I imaged the amp is a few years old.
Dr. Z never answers there phone or my e-mails to them. There isn' t a user manual available apparently.
I don't know is this amp can be re-biased? Can someone tell me?
What is the difference between guitar input jack 1 and 2?

Hey there. As far as biasing goes, all of Dr. Z's EL-84 amps (which is what the Maz 18 has) are self biasing, and there should not be a need to re-biase as long as you use a set of closely matched replacement tubes. As far as the speakers are concerned, I do not think that those speakers are stock on the Maz. right now. Mine is a late 2005 model, and it came with a celestion G12H. The optional speaker is a Celestion AlNiCo Blue. Someone else may be able to chime in and give you more detailed info, but I hope this helped!

Well, I don't know about anymore...but they USED to answer e-mails and calls. I've talked to Mike several times. Things change, apparently.

Spoke with the Doc the other day...he's been outta town, and has been busy building SRZ-65's. Be patient, he'll get back to you. But you've already got yer answer. They are self biasing, get a matched set of GT EL84S with a rating of #6 (middle of the road). My guess is the EL84's, or maybe a preamp tube.
