And I’m am officially done buying tubes for a least the next year Viva Tubes is a very reputable dealer with many successful transactions. Boy that does seem to be a step price for a matched set, but I guess those are things to come unfortunately . Z

Ok. I ordered from that website and I Saw that the jj tubes were the 7591 s and the tung sol were 7591 a tubes.. I ordered the tung sol brand because I thought that the ‘a’ tubes were the ones I needed For the Jetta..they were 188 dollars after shipping cost. Would I have done as well with the jj’s’ series? I believe the 7591a is the stock tube. I’m still learning about tubes….

Guys get a look at the price of those 7591A's AMAZING. I spent the day on the phone with a new tube supplier and my new price of tubes is more then doubled my price from just a month ago. I have these tubes coming for evaluation, I have been told they are better than what I have been receiving , well I say the proof is in the putting. Production price increases are coming FAST & FURIOUS.

Surge in demand wiped out inventories (panic buying). Hard to say where pricing will normalize to. Looks like vivatubes.com has 7591’s available. I'm confident this will normalize at some point. If nothing else, it showed there's a pretty strong market for this product and people care about it. Good luck!

I have not used the JJ, but did but a pair myself to check out (pricing hasnt skyrocketed). The TungSol pricing is kinda nuts, but those are Russian and hard to say how availability will be on any of the Russian tubes.

a quick, rhetorical Q about the Jetta power tubes...
are you all really going through 7591a's that fast? especially since it was released during C19 and gigging went flat? as robust as the 7591a is designed, I don't expect to have a need to load the spares for at least a few more years (if they're anything like my other output tubes), and I run my Jetta pretty hot at least a couple times a week.
wow re the prices paid!

I play my Jetta every day for approximately 2 hours each day, and have had it for a year now. No issues, no tubes replaced. I have acquired three sets of back up power tubes, primarily because it’s a rare tube and the obvious shortage and concerns over future availability.

My tubes don’t need replaced yet…. I just wanted to have some spares in case of tube failure. I have a matched pair of Tung Sol and a matched pair of JJ’s and an extra rectifier tube as well. I paid thru the nose to get them….

ALWAYS a good idea to have a spare set at all times. Tubes are by far the weakest link, and lack of practice.😉

Does anyone one know if the more recently shipped Jettas have the tube rattle McGyver fix preinstalled at the factory? If so, after which serial #?
Or is this something that Z suggests to owners on a case by case basis if they have this particular issue?

Or is this something that Z suggests to owners on a case by case basis if they have this particular issue? All large bottle tubes get the rubber gasket and spring retainer now, and have been so for a year. Anyone who has a Jetta shipped with the serial number GG should have it. It is a case by case though, not all tubes will rattle, the 7591's in the small cabinet are simply prone to it.
