Got to love those old " Interstate RT 66's ". The unique original tone of the RT 66 can not be matched, there I said it.......

It's on the way back "home! You previously owned that exact one? If so, kind of interesting on a couple fronts... you chased down an amp you once sold, and I know (think?) you have at least one other of that model. The other being weren't those some of the earliest of the Z models? Then if so, #5 seems a pretty cool thing.

I also own the green and gold #172 shown above. It just came back from the shop and I played it Saturday..pure gold as well...I just missed the "older" one!

Congratulations. I really like the cosmetics on #5 but I have to admit, I've always had a soft spot for the Rt 66 metal knobs like on #172. Just something about those milspec knobs always seemed to fit that amp.

I just love mine so much! I have serial number J. 100/71. Does anyone know what year or number this would be? I think it’s 1999.

That is so awesome! Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it. Now if I could figure out how to post pics on here I’ll put some pics up of the amp and circuit. It has a nice wood valence.

You'll never guess what showed up on my doorstep today?!? Since my 1x12 Gold cab is still in Texas (slow cartage / lead singer!) I put it on top of my Tweedle Dee combo with a Red Fang. Now to convince the wife to go run some errands so I can open it up!

Looks like DRZ was in this amp a few years back...and it was probably me who sent it in for a checkup. Aargh...getting old sucks and the first thing to go is your memory! DRZ - Do you have any suggestions on straigtening the chassis under the xfrmrs? You can't tell by the photo but there's some issues! :-) <edit> Transformers...Is that OT original?

As I recall from discussions with Doc - Dixie was the transformer for the initial builds - not too many of them out there.
