Ok! So I need help. I currently have a Jetta and a Ghia and I can only keep one. I use pedals into the front of the amp for everything and I also use a fryette ps-2 power station as an attenuator. I also have an opportunity to sell both and get a Maz 18. What would everyone do?

Welcome to the forum. I've never played a Jetta but I've owned a Ghia head and a Maz 18 NR 1x12 combo. I strongly preferred the Maz to the Ghia but I guess it depends on what kind of music you are playing. I'm sure you will get a lot more informed input than mine. Good luck on making your decision.

I would possibly go with the Jetta due to the 30 watt rating. I played with my GHIA in a band and absolutely loved it because it has a unique sound. If one amp is your desire consider the Jetta has 30 watts, FX loop (if you ever want one in the future), and a Master Volume. Kinda a no brainer to me that the Jetta will provide for needs current and future.
As long as you like the Jetta sound keep it.

Sell the ps-2 and add the Maz.

Everybody has an opinion and I’m sure they’re all valid.
But there are plenty of folks whose only amp is a Maz Jr. and there’s good reason for that. It can do anything and sound great while it’s doing so. It would be my choice.
Of course there are plenty of folks that only have a Ghia too so there’s that.
If you could figure out some way to rock a Maz and a Ghia you’d be all set!

I have both the Jetta and the Ghia (love them both) and I had a Maz 18. The Jetta and Ghia have their own unique sounds where the Maz 18 can cover a wide variety of tones. It is quite the chameleon. The Master volume also works great on the Maz and you probably will not need the attenuator. Maybe sell the attenuator and trade one of the amps?

I'm a Ghia and Maz Jr owner. I've never owned a Jetta.
I've gone back and forth on which one might be my desert island amp. For the past year, I finally decided "Ghia". It's a head and gets more use vs my Maz Jr combo. It typically runs into my UA Ox for recording or jamming. It felt like it was starting to define 'my sound'. When I would plug into my Maz Jr/Ox, it just wasn't thrilling me.
Well, there's always a twist. I finally swapped out my power tubes and PI in the Maz Jr. I decided to take it to rehearsal because we have a benefit gig this weekend, and I was thinking a combo makes sense due to quick set up time. And, with the new tubes, that amp just sounds Great!
So, I suppose my advice is make sure you've got good tubes in the amps. If you want only one amp, which one speaks to you? In my case, I think I can just flip a coin. And, maybe I should stop worrying about which amp and be very, very happy I have two amps that sound great.

I would keep both and buy the Maz. There, I said it.

I would keep both and buy the Maz. There, I said it. I like that. Per all of the personality tests, training, etc I received in my corporate life, they said I had a strength of sticking to something to see it through. It could also be a weakness since my focus might shut out options. Long story short I had a boss that challenged me on something, but it opened my eyes to the fact that 'Options are Good'. Therefore, if the opportunity and circumstances present themselves, Chilly's got great insight.

considering that most of us on the forum here have multiple Z amps I am not sure we can actually be of much help determining what to keep or sell . . . . none of us can decide either

I appreciate everyones advice! I've decided to get rid of the Ghia. It's a great sounding amp but not quite what I'm looking for. I am talking to a guy about a Maz at the moment and if I can get a good price I might go with it.

Too bad you can't figure a way to keep them both. It's been my experience that when I sell a Z I regret it. I played my Ghia 1x10 studio at big band rehearsal last night and had the Brake Lite on 2 clicks. It's way more amp than it appears to be.
