Im already saving up for this. This just may be the most musical organic sounding delay ever.

I’m a collector of delays. However, for some reason, this is one I’ve already written off as not going to get. Not sure why. The price doesn’t scare me but there’s just something about it that doesn’t appeal to me. Even though it means very little, I’m definitely not loving the cosmetics/layout/functionality and maybe that’s what I can’t get over. There are a few other delay pedals on my list that I will get over this one, even though this one is likely a superior pedal.

I was interested in the Jam pedals Delay lama supreme. I have there vibe and wah both great pedals. I had the fuzz phrase too they make great stuff. But the Lama extreme has just too much going on for me. After going back and forth between analog delays and tape echo pedals I come to the conclusion I like analog delays better.

Lol, actually I listened to the video again. I watched this first when it came out and it confirmed my original thoughts. Even though this is an analogue delay, the interview with Kevin Suhr centers around multiple MIDI levels, presets, digital overrides, etc. It’s an analogue delay at its heart but there a level of complexity built in that I just have no interest in. I have the Strymon stuff with that level of complexity and don’t want another. For me, the new J Rockett Clockwork Delay is more up my alley. I’m not sure if that’s an analogue pedal or digital emulation but that interface just appeals to me more. The Bonar delay is on my list, too. This pedal seems to be trying to do too much, for me. I’d like to see a watered down pedal with no digital display, no presets, no MIDI…just an analogue pedal with modulation to be a new-age version of a DMM. That….I’d pay for 😎

I like the layout. For me it seems easier to dial in then the El Cap that I just sold. The El Cap started to sound too stiff for me I just lost interest in it. I have been looking at the analogman delay as well.

I have been looking at the analogman delay as well. Every once in a while I feel the el cap sounds like gold. Specifically big regen with volume swells, the sound on sound mode, and slap modes when in stereo. Put another way, stuff I will basically never use.

It's been my go to delay for years. I have tried other delays then always come back to it.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it’s a great pedal. Well thought out and well engineered/built.
Its interesting, too, in that the 3 dealers I deal with here in Canada (that carry Suhr pedals) are not stocking it and only one has it on their site as available for special order. Here in Canada the pedal is $800 tax included so I’m sure that’s part of the reason for their lack of buy-in as a stock item as well.
However, I suspect my main shop I buy pedals at will bring this in as they love the high end boutique stuff!

Extreme tweakability (is that even a word?) can be fun but for playing live I need to keep things simple and reliable. I think a lot of gear like this is marketed toward studio players where you can take advantage of subtle changes in effects. Sounds wonderful in a YouTube video but on a live stage that all tends to get lost. My Analogman delay does all I imagine I will ever need in a delay.
Granted, people who play mainly in their home studio are a big part of the market for gear now. I get that.

I think that’s what it’s called.

Yes, I have the Amazeo also. It is a good addition if you want tap tempo or flutter or dotted 1/8 stuff. I used it for a while but eventually took it off the board. Two independent settings is all I really need for live work. KISS.

I I just received this pedal on Friday and it is awesome. It’s easy to create and store presets. The tap tempo switch Can also be used to go through the presets. I like long delays And his had plenty of delay time on it, it’s very good. It’s very musical and you can pretty much dial in whatever You want from slap back to dotted 8 and super long delays With infinite repeats.

I’m not ruling out getting one. If my preferred crack pedal dealer ever stocks one I will likely buy one.

The Discovery looks real interesting to me. I'm sure I'll try it some day. Funny you mention about going between analog and tape types. I've been into tape style delays for a long time. I picked up a UA Starlite not long ago and I'm surprised that I like the analog mode best. Cool pedal. Enjoy it.

Well I would like to give a huge shout out to www.guitareffectspedals.com/I live in Ca and they gave me a great deal on it no sales tax and free shipping! I have bought a few pedals from them already. Great group of people over there and excellent customer service as well as fast shipping. I bought the pedal on Monday and got it in a few days.
