I’ve had a Dr.Z 2x10 cab now for a while. It houses a 10” gold and a Z10”. I run this with a z28 and I’m still wanting more treble and less bass. I’ve been doing a lot of research and think I’ve read every 10” speaker thread on here lol. I also found this video, which was “ear opening”.
I’m leaning towards adding a second gold but also have thoughts about 1. Eminence Legend 1028k 2. Celestion Creamback 3. Weber Blue Pup 4. Celestion Greenback
I’m asking because I don’t want to go down the rabbit hole that I’ve seen other guys go down. Love that one of you on here ended up with two 4x10 cabs to A/B 10” speakers. 😎

I recommend the Legend 1028 for what you are wanting.

I recommend the Legend 1028 for what you are wanting. I just discovered that this speaker is only made in 8 ohms and not 16ohms? I wonder if special orders are still accepted on the 16 ohm variants.

What about WGS speakers? They make some great little speakers in your interest like this one The 10” Veteran…..it’s only 20 watts but in a two speaker cab I think it might be okay. Anyhow check out other 10” speakers they make and perhaps they will have what you’re looking for.

I've got a 2x10 with a Gold and a Red Fang that has lots of snap when you want it, they sound great together.

I had them do up a 16ohm Red Fang Ceramic for me last year, but you will have to contact Eminence yourself. The last time I contacted them the Custom Shop was closed until further notice. If you want more highs or sparkle matched with the Gold, you need a Ceramic Speaker IMHO. I run one Z 2x10 with stock Z’s and the other I run a Red Fang Alnico and a Red Fang Ceramic. I did switch the RF’s out recently for the V Type 10’s to cut some weight.

Less efficient, a touch brighter, definitely more Celestion flavor to the Fangs Fane sound. I like both of them very much and I do think as far as the Red Fangs go the Ceramic holds its own against the Alnico.

I put a celestion v10;and a greenback in my Z-2x10. My Therapy sounds great with that combo. Currently it’s running closed back.

You guys were supposed to help narrow down the list haha. In all seriousness though, thank you for the suggestions. I’ll give the Red Fang a listen and read up a little more on it. I know by itself it seemed to have a love it or hate it opinion in the 1x10 crowd that were using it. Things can change for the better with a mixture of speakers though.
