I dig the cut control on the Maz Jr. 18, but what does it actually do? Is it anything like a variable Negative Feedback loop like other amps have?

Cut is a treble tone control that's inserted after the phase inverter, just before the output tubes. It's not a variable negative feedback, it literally stops (cuts) high frequencies from reaching the output tubes.

It's between phase inverter and power tubes and connects between the two inverted sides. The pot/cap controls how low of frequencies pass between the two sides, and how much, and since the sides are inverted, the frequencies cancel. It's like a Vox cut control.
