I've been on the waiting list for a King of Tone for three years now, and recently there's been some buzz about a Chinese knockoff. 68 Pedals makes it and calls it "King of Clone". They're around $100 shipped, and so about 5 weeks ago I bought one. It came today, and I gotta say I'm impressed. I've never played the real thing but I do have a Snouse Black Box which is a dual Marshall Blues Breaker pedal, which is what the KOT is based on.
The pedal sounds very good, it's got great edge of breakup OD and very nice distortion. It's adjustable like the KOT is, and has hi/lo gain switches internally for each channel. Also has dual treble boost trimpots, which is nice. And it's quiet! Very little hum considering the level of drive available. It probably is the best value in a pedal out there. I don't like supporting cloners but considering that the KOT was basically a clone itself, plus the fact that I'm going to buy one when my number comes up in another nine months or so, I don't feel any guilt.
Very cool pedal, you should check one out. For the bucks it's a no-brainer.

I've read good things about that pedal. The only thing that's kept me from getting one is, I like my dual pedals with a master on/off switch and a switch to go between modes.

Dave, your review seems to fall in line with what I think of the JHS Morning Glory.
